Mike trotted around the clearing, kicking up his hind hooves and galloping short distances. "This is crazy! I feel it all! It's normal to move around on four legs, but I know I never did it before." He found a still pool and stopped to admire himself while the others checked out their own new selves. He was mostly recognizable, his teenage upper body coming out of the neck of lean, athletic stallion - probably an Arabian, with dark hide the color of his hair. There was so much energy! He could run like the wind, he knew. And if he had been horny as a boy, this stallion's equipment was a thousand times more potent. He forced himself back to the others, and was intimidated by Joe's massive dragon form. Brian looked like he'd turned into a younger kid except for the pointed ears, but Christine definitely looked dangerous.
"So, are you ready to go look for the wizard?" Tye pointed towards the road. "He lives in the town that way."
Mike was anxious to try his legs. "I'll scout ahead!" He took off at a full gallop before any of the others could react.
Tye chuckled and shook his head as the centaur ran off. "I don't think he is going to last very long, at least as he is. You all need to know that magic is real here, and whatever happens to you while you are in this world has consequences. The only way home is to fulfill the quest, or die. And if you die first, you won't go back to the life you had."
"What do you mean?" Brian looked alarmed. "We can die here?"
"Yep." Tye grinned at their shocked expressions. "And if you do you will wake up with a totally new life. Joe could find himself in the desert as a Komodo Dragon. Christine, you will probably find yourself somewhere back in time as a primitive warrior. And Brian? A little boy with no memory of his past."
"What about Mike?" Brian frowned, not rally minding the idea of being a little boy, but wanting to keep his memories.
"Oh, he is going to spend a lifetime here on four hooves - but most likely as a horse of some kind." Tye gestured in the direction Mike had galloped off in. "There is a pasture of mares outside of town that are likely to get him started, and Llandros himself likes to turn centaurs into horses to serve as his mount."
Christine frowned. "If he is that stupid, I say let him become a horse."
Brian started jogging off in the same direction. "No! We need to warn him."
