Jack felt like he had been asleep for days when he at last woke up the next morning. He slowly opened his eyes and immediately sensed his new sense of perspective. Everything looked huge!
He went to move his body upward but noticed that he was being held in place by an incredibly strong arm. He squirmed around in the person's arm to see who was holding him, "Mary Ann?" he asked not recognizing his higher pitch voice.
The woman who had her eyes closed open them. "Shhhhhhhhhhh." she whispered to little Jack as she placed her finger on Jack's tiny lips, "It's mommy now, don't you remember?"
As soon as Jack heard her gentle words, he knew them to be true. Jack wasn't a man anymore but just a young boy. He jumped out of the bed and raced to a full length mirror that was in the room. Jack instantly fell in love with the silly little 7 year old staring back at him. He had delightful brown hair and a face that he found cute as can be. Jack's mommy slipped out of the bed and knelt beside him.
"Like the new you sweetheart?" she said as she gently kissed him on his cheek.
"I do mommy!" he replied "I can't believe I'm a kid again!"
"Believe it Jack," a stern voice said behind little Jack that was getting off the bed.
"Daddy!" Jack screamed and ran towards his father and jumped up into his arms.
Micheal caught little Jack and held the boy easily against his chest. "How do you feel son?" he asked.
"Oh daddy you were right! I felt so good last night during the Agetrip!!!!!" Jack said unaware that he hadn't really answered his new dad's question.
Micheal and Mary Ann proceeded to take their new son on a tour of their home. Jack was showed his new room first, which he loved instantly. Then his parents showed him all the bathrooms in the house, including the tub that his mommy would bath him in nightly as well as the walk-in shower he would share with his daddy on weekends. They also showed him the many guest rooms in the house which they promised Jack would soon be converted into the bedrooms for his future siblings, The tour ended with a big pancake breakfast prepared by his mommy.
Little Jack adapted to his second childhood very well. By the mid-afternoon he was already playing with the toys his parents had picked out for him and by the evening he was becoming increasingly more comfortable with his reduced height. As the days and weeks went by, Jack appreciated how much more structured his life was now than in adulthood. Little Jack had a wake-up time, a playtime, a nap time, and of course a bedtime which he sometimes protested.
One night around his inevitable bedtime, as Jack sat in his daddy's lap as he he watched TV with his mommy, he finally decided to bring something up.
"Daddy. Mommy. Thank you for taking me in. I really love being your son." he admitted.
Daddy hugged him tight in response and Jack cooed with pleasure. "You're welcome little one." his daddy said as he kissed the side of his forehead, "But I also want to thank you for being so cooperative with us. Most grownups would be better off as children, but unlike you they would have fought us at every turn for silly adult reasons. I'm telling you this because your mom and I are going to start searching again for grownups that aren't so good at being grownups. Do you know what that means?"
Jack was all smiles, "I'm going to get a new brother or sister?!!!!"
Daddy smiled too, "Yep and once we bring them back here and Agetrip them, I want you to be the best brother you can be to them so they can get used to being little again just like you did. Will you do that for us?"
"Of course daddy!" Jack answered, "but I when do I get to start school?"
"Soon Jack," his mommy said, "The grownups looking for you have given up, so you're all clear to start 2nd grade next week!"
Jack was filled with glee as his mommy put him to bed with a goodnight kiss. As he drifted off to innocent sleep, he wondered what kind of silly grownup his mommy and daddy would help out next.
