Mary wandered up and down the aisles of the grocery store, eyes wide and mouth watering at all the food surrounding her. In went cookies, ice cream, and candies. Crackers and cheese. Sweet breads and muffins. Donuts and cinnamon rolls. Four gallons of whole milk.
The shirt Mary was wearing began to tighten up. She was taking too long. She had to get going or she might transform too much to drive home. She spotted another item that sounded really good and put it into her overflowing cart. With enormous will Mary pulled herself away from the shelves and pushed the heavy cart towards the checkout. Mary's belly pulled her t-shirt tighter and began to peak out. She blushed and pulled it vainly downward.
Thump! Mary's cart banged into another cart that had emerged from another aisle. Shoot! Food fell out of her cart and Mary leaned over to pick it up. It was harder than it was before. Her weight and belly was getting in the way.
"Oh! I'm so sorry!" The other cart's owner said. Mary recognized the voice. It was Dan from down the street. Mary looked up and blushed a brighter red. "Mary? Is that you?" Dan knelt down to help pick up the rest of the fallen food. "Getting quite a lot of food, got a party planned?" Dan asked.
"Dan! Um, yeah something like that." Mary stammered as she dumped the last of the food back into the cart. "Well, can't chat, gotta run!" Mary felt sweat run down the side of her face. In fact, her face felt a bit puffy as she wiped it away. Without further conversation, Mary practically ran to the checkout to get home. Leaving Dan to watch Mary rush away, he couldn't help noticing her rounder form and plump behind.
Mary's towering cart of food entered the checkout line. Naturally, she was behind another loaded cart. Mary fidgeted as she waited her turn. Finally it was her turn and she poured all the food onto the conveyor belt. The cashier glanced at Mary and smirked. Another porker.
"That'll be two hundred thirty two fifty." Said the cashier. Mary winced, but paid and left the store.
Relief flooded her as she put the last of the bags in her car and closed the door. Mary looked down at her belly, it had grown large enough that it had forced her shirt up and was poking out. Now to get home.
