"Hey, I'm not a guy, " said the young woman before the dragon. She was small in stature, with a thin, flat frame and had a pixie haircut. She was often mistaken for child, but rarely a man. She was very insulted.
"Sorry, it is kind of hard to tell. You being so small and all. But in my defense I have been cooped up here for a long time, and it has been quite a while since anyone has come in to visit. Hey! " said the Dragon suddenly. She leaned her head close to the young girl, her large eye mere inches from her body as she examined her closely. She was a short girl, barely over five feet tall. She had a rail thin body, with no curves or breast development. Her hair was short, in a pixie cut, but it was a vibrant bright red color. Her skin was pale, and spotted with freckles across her shoulders and arms. The girl was wearing a short black top, and some short tight blue jeans.
Is it summer already? the Dragon wondered idly.
The eye of the dragon was almost as large as her body, and it made the girl uncomfortable being so close to the strange yellow reptilian slit. The young girl examined the dragon more closely. It was large. She estimated it to be nearly 40 feet long, and 20 feet tall. It's outer surface was covered in thick hard green scales, with long thin sharp spines running down its back to the tip of its tail. Its belly was covered in thinner scales, pale yellow in color. Its chest was wide but flat, and its large swollen belly protruded from its body. Its front claws were restrained by large chains, but that did little to help ease her fears of the long sharp black talons that extended from its digits. Equally sharp, jagged teeth lined its large snout, and she could see a long forked tongue slithering across the inside of its mouth. Its snout was covered by thin yellow scales, but the rest of its head was covered in the thick hard green scales. Two long black twisted horns protruded from its skull.
"You're not part of the Zoo staff, are you? Who are you? " said the Dragon, as she pulled her head back.
Kim was too frightened to answer. She didn't know which answer the creature wanted to hear, and which would result in her becoming its next meal.
