Several months later .......
The old cook from the Chinese restaurant hesitated when he threw the trash out the back door. A pair of large yellow eyes stared back at him from the darkness. He opened the door wider, revealing a small cat girl hovering over his trash.
"Shoo! Get out of her you vermin! " yelled the cook.
Dina hissed, then grabbed what she could from the trash, and ran away.
Have I really been reduced to this, she thought as she walked the lonely streets.
After Dina left the employment of Master Roy, life had not been kind to her. Due to the reality warping actions of the ray gun, Dina had no access to anything in her former life. Her job, her apartment, her car, her meager savings, even her clothes now belonged to a person who no longer existed. Cat girl maids were unusual but not unheard of thanks to the reality altering properties of the gun. But because she no longer had her old identity, she had no history of employment or job skills. It made it almost impossible to find a job. Well, a decent job. There were always the perverts looking to keep a cat girl maid as some kind of pet or sexual slave. Dina knew she was better than that. So she stalked the streets in search of employment or food.
Earlier tonight Dina had gone back to Roy's mansion to visit. She had gone there several times, always from a distance, usually on a hill overlooking the mansion. Tonight she had been bold. It looked like they were having some sort of party, so she went down the hill and up to the window to investigate. The house was lit up, and the cat girl maids were dressed in their finest outfits and merrily moving about from room to room. They always seemed to be having a good time at the mansion, and it was not the first time Dina regretted leaving. But she had her pride, and she did not want to go groveling for help. And she did not want to return to being someone's servant, a pet for a master. Tonight was different though. There was an air of excitement, and a frenzy of activity. She was almost caught when a young cat girl maid saw her staring through the window.
"Master Roy, I think someone is out there, " said the cat girl maid, shivering in fear.
Roy threw open the window and looked out, narrowly missing Dina's retreat into the shadows. "It's nothing, dear, " said Master Roy, as he patted his cat girl maid with affection. "Just the shadows of the night. Now get back to work, please. We have a lot to do if we are going to bring my plan to fruition."
Dina now walked the streets, shivering in the tattered remains of her uniform. She once again cursed Master Roy, for sentencing her to this fate. Her life wasn't great before, but at least she wasn't homeless.
This is all his fault, she grumbled, as it began to lightly drizzle.
"Hey look! It's one of those cat girls! " said a voice behind her.
Dina turned to see three rough looking thugs ogling her body.
"Hey baby, I got some milk right here, " said one of the guys, gesturing towards his groin.
"Get lost, creep, " said Dina, as she continued walking. It wasn't the first time she had heard the catcalls, but it was still annoying. And could be disturbing when she was walking alone at night.
"C'mon, don't be that way little kitty. You look lost and alone. Why don't you come with me, and I will give you a good home? " said another guy. Dina kept walking, but the men started to follow.
"Hey baby, I just want to pet a cat tonight. You know, feel a real good p......" said the third guy.
Dina turned and glared at him, saying angrily, "Don't say it, don't you dare say it." She wagged one finger of her paw in his face.
She looked up, and suddenly realized that she was surrounded by three very large, very tall, and very tough looking men. They looked at her with unbridled lust. Dina didn't hesitate. Her natural instincts took over, and her cat like reflexes kicked in as she dodged their grasping hands and ran down the street. She thanked whatever deity existed that at least cat girls could run very fast.
The men ran after her, and she looked desperately for some place to hide. All of the stores looked dark and closed, but she doubted that they would have let a smelly homeless cat girl in even if they were open. She turned a corner, and was surprised to see light peaking out of an open shop door. She jumped through the door, just as it closed behind her. She was looking out the window, trying to see if the men had seen her duck in here, when she heard the voice behind her.
"Well, well. Look what the cat dragged in. Welcome to my store, Dina, " said an old man behind a counter. "I have been waiting for you, and I think I might just have what you need."
