The jewelry just barely hid her nipples, which slid into view with just the right motion... Molly looked like she didn't even care, and my gut I knew bringing up the subject was futile.
The closer it got time to go, the more reserved and calm Molly acted. At least she wasn't locking herself up in her room. She of course spent what time she had left after preparing reading. It wasn't just history. There was art, along with military history, political science, and economics.
Her reading speed had increased far more than it had been before. She could likely pass collage without even trying now.
The way she moved and the way she lay was the picture of royalty. No, not royalty, a priestess! Which for the ancient Egyptian faith could be about the same thing.
I'd got sent a tuxedo to wear at the unveiling too. It was more expensive than any other clothing I owned.
Molly leaned against me slightly as I looked at myself in the mirror.
"Too bad we don't match." Molly said.
I looked at her.
"JOKING! JOKING!"
The limo was another gift from Julia's backers. They wanted to build up Molly to be something grand.
It wasn't a super long drive from our place to the museum, but Molly lounged around in the time we had.
"I can't believe these humans," Molly said with a tone of weariness and indifference. "They glorify a bunch of tomb-robbers, claiming it's for knowledge's sake."
"Molly! What did you just say?"
"I said I can't believe these people."
"No no no. You said 'these humans.'"
"Oh I did?" Molly looked surprised, but only mildly. "Sorry dear. I promise it wasn't anything personal. It just... slipped out."
We drove up to the museum, I stepped out first as Molly's escort. People went weak at the knees at the sight of her, there weren't any cat-calls or sniggers like I thought there would be. Some were in awe, others in wonders, and others looking outright fearful of her. Molly didn't even look at them. She moved with grace and power that even gave me pause.
"WOW!" Julia gasped when she met us inside. Wearing a single piece red dress. "Molly you look amazing!"
"Thank you." Molly said calmly. "You have an exceptional turn out tonight."
"You can say that again! We have people claiming the mummy is a fake, those who think it's a sign from Mother Nature to protect the planet (of course), and a hundred other things. We're still running tests to try and figure out how she died."
"Who?" I asked.
"The sphinx in the sarcophagus of course."
"Oh."
I scanned the guests, I didn't SEE anyone I recognized from the sideshow, but they knew me and Molly were on the guest list, I doubted they'd show, they were likely in Mexico or somewhere by now. What was I worried about? That they rush up and kidnap her and try to show her off as a circus sideshow on the open road with the entire country looking for them?
Julia looked at the various guest. "This is going to be a night to remember!"
"Oh yes, most definitely indeed," Molly agreed.
