*Great minds think alike. Nice job on last chapter TMW - bj88
**NOTE: Time skip is about three days forward, to Friday when the Anderson/Lawson/Twist dinner takes place. Picking up the story at around 4 PM.

“This is NOT how to start your time at Moon Lake High Ms. Lawson.” Spencer’s government teacher said sternly. The werestag loomed over her, and though he didn’t have antlers at the moment, Spencer suspected that if he did they’d be aimed at her heart.
“You’re a smart girl, don’t let me catch you doing anything beneath your intellect like this again.” he said before dismissing her from detention. Spencer, having played soldier most of her life, nodded and smiled politely.
She turned tail (metaphorically of course) and sped out the main entrance.
“God, what a tool.” she thought.
“Spencer?” A voice emirates from the parking lot. There Ben Twist and his boyfriend Alex were exiting the gym, carrying a duffel filled with football equipment.
“Hey, Ben and… Alek?”
“Alex.” he corrects, putting emphasis on the X. Alex then offers her a hand. They haven’t formally met before.
“Sorry,” Spencer said shaking Alex’s hand. She gives them a quick sniff, noting that Ben was the only one who smelled like boy sweat. Still, the right thing to do is ask, so Spencer does.
“Which one of you is the athlete?”
“That’s be me. I’m a wide receiver, and sometimes a tight end for the varsity team.” Ben says.
“Ya, I haven’t the slightest clue what that means. No offense, but I prefer European football over American.” Spencer admitted.
“None taken. I used to play soccer, but football seemed like a better fit for me after my first change. Werewolves aren’t known for their speed, and I can’t compete with the werecheetahs, or the were-cervidae.”
“Come again?” Spencer says unsure if that’s some kind of newly discovered were, or Moon Lake talk.
“Were whose forms are derived from various species of deer. Ben likes to show off his Latin.” Alex explains, rolling his eyes a bit.
“Ah, I must have missed that lesson.” Spencer said, smiling.
“So, do you want a lift back to your place? Why are you here so late anyway?” Ben asked.
“Two hour detention.”
“Damn, what’d you do?” Ben gapes at her.
“I, uh, may or may not have hacked Mr. Polk’s computer and changed the photos in his power point.” Spencer said, trying not to look too smug. It wasn’t the best prank she’d ever pulled, but it was up there.
“Changed the photos? To what?” Alex asks, almost afraid to ask since he can tell Spencer’s fighting a sly grin.
“Well the presentation was on the different presidents and the kinds of policies their administrations enacted. So I replaced the Presidential portraits with these,” Spencer lifts her phone to show Ben and Alex the photoshopped images of what looked like pinup girls with the various President’s heads. They both choke back a laugh.
“And here I thought government was boring.” Alex said, wiping the tears from his eyes.
“Since you’ve already done your time, let me drive you home.” Ben said. Spencer didn’t argue, she wasn’t in the mood to walk home. Especially since her father was probably there waiting to lecture her. He would never do so if she had company with her.
“Thanks.” Spencer said, climbing into the backseat of Ben’s red Jeep Wrangler. The inside smells like the forest, and werewolves. Spencer doesn’t need to think twice about the stains on the floor or seats. It’s obvious this Jeep has been the “third wheel” to Ben and Alex’s relationship. There are even some claw marks on the doors.
“Nice car,” Spencer says. Ben climbs into the drivers’ seat, while Alex throw Ben’s football gear into the trunk.
“It was a present for passing my driver’s test. My mom’s bought it from Austin, our pack leader.” Ben said, turning the key in the ignition and shifting into reverse. Alex jumps into the passenger seat and asks Spencer if he’ll see her tonight at the Anderson’s.
“You’re going too?” Spencer said, surprised that the adults allowed Ben to invite his boyfriend.
“Would Julie be there too,” she thought. It would be a good chance to ask her about Eric. She was already planning on talking to Nate about his mystery panthress. Two bugs with one stone (I never liked the idea of killing birds. Birds are nice, bugs are gross - bj88).
“Ya. I spend more time at Ben’s place than my own. My parents don’t really like us messing around in the house, mostly because we broke the TV last time we… you know.” Alex said, flushing a little.
“So you take it out on this poor Jeep?”
Spencer doesn’t need to see Ben or Alex’s faces to know they’re blushing. In no time, they’ve pulled up to her house. Her father’s black Jeep sits in the driveway, and the living room lights are on. She can hear her father complaining to someone, presumably her mom.
“He, uh, doesn’t sound happy. Are you sure you want to go?” Ben asks, catching a glimpse of Evan Lawson’s face. Contorted with angry, it’s a lot less appealing to look at. To be on the other side of it, that’s worse.
“If I don’t he’ll track me down and drag me home by my tail.” Spencer sighed. She thanked Ben and Alex, almost pausing to say she hopes when she sees them later she’ll be in one piece. It was meant to be a joke, but the boys take it to heart.
“Just kidding. My dad may be a bit of a military nut, but he’s not…”
“Spencer Lawson get in this house NOW!” Evan shouts from the doorway. Behind him, Ben and Alex see a younger woman who they guess is Spencer’s mom.
“Good luck,” Ben whispers. He hates to leave Spencer behind, seeing as her father is in such a terrible, and to some extent violent mood. Alex urges him to go before things get messier.
“I’m sure Spencer’s mom can handle him.” Alex says.
Which is true, though at the moment she’s pretty annoyed at her daughter as well. But she’d never let Evan hit Spencer. There are plenty of better way to punish her. Maggie’s mind drifts to the night the happy parents spent wrapped in each other’s arms, tormenting Spencer with exaggerated sounds of pleasure.
“Best punishment ever,” Maggie thinks, forcing herself to calm down. She has to deal with Spencer first, then she and Evan can fool around. After the dinner with the Twists and Andersons of course, but still.
“Though considering what Sam has told me about them, they’d probably be more than willing to join.” Maggie thought with a quick lick of her lips. The thoughts aren’t doing anything to subdue her growing arousal, but they give her more of an incentive to get the unpleasant business with Spencer out of the way.
