Jessica tried to stifle a laugh in response to my worries about turning all the way into an animal but wasn't fully successful. I looked up at her inquiringly. Seeing the confusion on my face, she did her best to dispel my fears. "Oh Mark, you don't need to worry about that. Circe doesn't let Please Island change people all the way into animals any more. She uses an enchantment that stops the change part of the way -just enough to allow the human and animal sides to exist in equilibrium. The guests have a good time and the magic of the island is satisfied."
While she was talking, Jessica had worked her hands down beneath the waistband of my pants and had started to massage my butt cheeks, almost encouraging them to sprout the same healthy coat of golden fur that was covering my lower back. To reciprocate, I had placed one hand on the area where her tail emerged from the back of her black bell bottom slacks, my fingers teasing the spotted fur where it connected to her butt. "So how much am I going to change then? When I am going to see Circe? Does everyone change? How about my friends Tim and Hank?" For the first time I started to feel slightly excited at the prospect of what was happening to me and the questions began to spill out.
A big smile played across the giraffe woman's lips. "Circe generally doesn't visit with humans, so you'll have to wait to meet her until you're finished getting all fuzzy" she replied. "As for how far you actually change, the final equilibrium depends on the person." Playing with Jessica's tail and giving its base a loving squeeze, I started to ponder what it would be like to have a tail of my own. What would a tail feel like? How long would it be? Would one look odd on me? And most importantly, would I even be getting one or would my change stop before I did?
