Meeting The Professor

added by Vocal 7 years ago A BM

"Fascinating, isn't it?" A voice rang out, causing me to quickly turn my head to the right, toward the source of the voice. Judging from the voice's tone, it most definitely sounded like a man, complete with a British accent. Then, I saw him stepped out of the darkened hallway, revealing himself as he approached me.

In appearance, he had a tall and slim frame, boned hands and face, short thick brown hair that was flattened forwards but was spiked up at the bangs, pale skin, and large dark brown eyes, along with being clean-shaven. Currently, he was wearing a dark brown suit with blue pinstripes, covering a collared shirt with blue tie, as well as wearing a pair of red Converse All-Stars tennis shoes. For a second there, looking at him, he looked exactly like David Tennant when he played as The Doctor from Doctor Who, right down to his voice.

Looking at him, I spoke to him and asked, "Why do I get the feeling that you're actually David Tennant?" In response, he couldn't help but letting out a light chuckle, smirking from what I said, then looking back at me and answered, "Oh it's alright. I'm well-acquainted with such mistaken identity. Name's Brooks. William Brooks."

From there, we ended up shaking hands, as I realized who he was and said, "Brooks? As in, Professor Brooks?" "Eeyup! And you must be Mr. Jacob Hill. Your mother and Ms. Julia have talked much about you and your lover. My condolences for what has happened to Molly Rhoer. After all, Mrs. Hill has explained to me about her....predicament, as they say." Brooks replied, obviously apologetic toward what happened to Molly.

However, I couldn't help but ask, "So....why invite me and Molly anyway?"

"Oh, I wanted to see if the rumors of your lover being a Sphinx were dodgy or not. Nothing more, lad." he answered, confessing his ulterior motive as to why he invited me and Molly to the banquet. Shifting the focus of our conversation, I spoked toward Brooks and said, "Tell me something: How did you even know that the Sphinx mummy was a woman?"

Turning to face the covered display, Brooks put his hands inside his pants pockets and answered, "Well, we found multiple indications that the mummy was female. For one, we found out that she had an open pelvis, which would have been for pregnancy. Second, there were these flaps of skin on her torso that were once a healthy pair of breasts. And third, she wore the attire of a royal priestess, one that would assist the Pharaoh and the royal family with religious services. Overall, she would have been an individual of great importance thousands of years ago."

Despite being an exact copy of David Tennant as the Tenth Doctor, Brooks seemed pretty legit in my opinion, judging from the way he knew this amount of information on the Sphinx mummy. "And yet, I still don't understand how Molly was able to open that sarcophagus when my mom and Julia couldn't open it themselves." I said, crossing my arms in the process.

From there, I heard Professor Brooks answered, ".....It might be only mere speculation, Jacob, but I think the sarcophagus only opened because a possible essence of magic emanating from a Sphinx. After all, a Sphinx is an entity born of supernatural means." In response, I spoke toward the professor once more and said.....
