"So, you think you are too good to eat flies I provide for you? Well, let's see how you feel after you change into something a little bit more hungry, " said the witch, as she waved her hands at Christina and the other toad.
Christina felt herself rapidly shrinking. Her skin became hard and chitinous. Her front arms grew longer, while her back legs became thinner. Two extra appendages rapidly extended from her abdomen, and were covered by thin hair. Her waist rapidly thinned, separating her thorax and abdomen into two large bulbs. Finally, two large thick fangs protruded from her mouth and two more eyes sprouted on her head.
The witch cackled with glee at the results of her work.
Christina turned to look at her male companion, and was shocked to see that instead of a spider, he had become a large juicy fly. Even more shocking was the sudden overwhelming hunger she felt when looking at him.
"Better eat up, dear. Before I decide you need another lesson. Maybe a more painful one, " said the witch.
The fly seemed injured. He flapped his wings, but was unable to move. A sudden movement behind the fly caught Christina's eyes. The male spider had moved down from his perch and was approaching them. Christina was frightened. She did not know what to do. She didn't want to let her male companion get hurt, but she didn't know how to fight as a spider. With surprising speed the male spider bypassed the fly and began to circle behind Christina.
"Oh my, " said the witch, clapping her hands in delight. "It looks like our little friend here has other appetites that need to be satisfied. "
Christina was horrified. She did not want to be mounted by a spider. The witch sensed her fear.
"Okay, dear, I'll make you a deal. If you eat the fly, I will turn you into something else. Not necessarily something human, but something that little spider would no longer be interested in. But you better hurry! If you are fertilized, then I am afraid even my magic will not be able to help you. At least until after you bear your young."
Christina began to panic. She did not want to eat a fly, much less one that used to be human. But she also had no desire to be stuck as a spider and birth any young. The male spider began to circle closer, as the witch cackled in glee at the spectacle before her. Christina would have to make up her mind soon, or else the eager male spider would make her decision for her.
