The zoo administration had hired one person to replace the two that were lost. The girl's name was Kim, and she was a young college graduate eager to make her mark. She was short, just 5'2", but she had long fiery red hair and the aggressive attitude to match. Working with animals had left her fit and lean, but her small breasts and freckled complexion had left her few suitors. She didn't mind, though. She didn't have much time for relationships anyway. Animals were her passion, and they demanded her full attention.
Today, it was Kim's turn to work the night shift, and she had the unfortunate duty of cleaning the animals. According to the chart, it was the alligators turn to be cleaned. Most of the staff hated the alligators. To others on the staff, they were big, mean, and ugly. There were even rumors that the big one - Mary Lou - had actually eaten two of the zoo staff.
But that didn't bother Kim. She didn't believe those silly rumors. There was no way any sane zoo administrator would allow a man-eater to stay at their zoo. And besides, she liked alligators. Herpetology had been her favorite subject in school, and she found alligators fascinating, even beautiful. She loved the feel of their rough skin. She was actually looking forward to the bath.
Unfortunately, she could not find any shampoo. She looked all through the large storeroom adjacent to the employee break room, but every shelf and cabinet was bare. It looked like the last idiot on the night shift forgot to go get some at the local pet store. She was about to leave and get some herself, when she spotted something out of the corner of her eye. Sticking out beneath the bottom of one of the large shelves was a bottle top. She bent down and pulled the bottle from beneath the shelf. The bottle was dusty, and appeared to have rolled under the shelf quite some time ago. She wiped off the dust, and saw an indigo label simply marked "Pet Shampoo". The bottle looked a little sketchy. But she wanted to make sure she got to wash all of the animals and she wouldn't have enough time to do it if she had to go out shopping. She decided to try it. After all, it was not like it was medicine or anything. It didn't have an expiration date. It was just shampoo. What was the worst that could happen?
She looked at the list of alligators, pondering who to wash first. Lizzie would probably be the easiest - Mary Lou was always so temperamental whenever someone entered her cage, especially if they got too close to her mate. But Mary Lou was the most interesting alligator she had ever seen. She wanted to spend more time with her, examining her unique and impressive body. And she would need the extra time to wash her much larger body. Kim played with the bottle in her hands, as she weighed her options.
