Richard's dad had dropped them off at the cabin, and after a small speech about safety, drove off, leaving the two teens to their own devices. They were unpacking, each had claimed one of the two bedrooms and were putting their clothes away.
"So what do you wanna do first?" Jason called out to Richard as he put his shirts into a drawer.
"Wanna go for a swim at the lake?" Richard replied.
"Oh yeah! We should go befo-" Jason stopped mid-sentence, he didn't remember packing this. Laying on top of his shorts was the brown cuff. 'Where did this...' Jason had almost forgotten about the strange experience at the little shop, but it all came back.
Richard walked into Jason's room, "Hey, do you remember that weird shop we got these things in?" he was holding his own identical cuff. "I don't even remember packing this thing."
"Same! I'd totally forgotten about it." Jason replied.
"What did the old lady say about them?"
"Nothing, just that they'd, like, be fun?"
The two boys looked at their cuffs.
"What are you doing?" Jason asked Richard.
"What does it look like I'm doing? I'm putting it on." Richard answered as he fastened his cuff onto his left wrist, "I think it looks pretty good!"
Jason had to agree, the cuff did look sort of cool on his best friend, he wondered if it'd look good on his thin wrists too. He fastened it onto his right wrist, surprising it fit perfectly. As soon as he tied the leather strings he felt a strange sensation overtake him.
"Yo," Richard said, his look concerned, "I feel weird."
Both teens suddenly felt a string heat all over their bodies. Their clothes seemed to start to burn, except that there was no fame, they were just being consumed.
"What the fuck is happening?!" Richard yelled. Jason was too panicked to even speak. As soon as they were completely nude their entire bodies seemed to start to glow. The silver wire on their cuffs was glowing red, as if someone had run it through a hot flame.
Richard and Jason felt a strange force pulling them together, the best they could describe it would be like the feeling between two magnets pulling together. The closer they got to each other, the brighter their bodies glowed. When they were inches away, their entire bodies seemed to be made of light. In a last push, the crashed into each other, their glowing forms becoming amorphous. In just a few minutes, their two forms seemed to intertwine and merge until there was only one white, glowing form. The blob began to take shape, slowly becoming more and more defined until the glowing form of a man sitting on the floor was visible. The man slowly lost his shine, and in a few seconds, was back to normal, well, as normal as he could be. The man was completely naked with the exception of a pair of matching cuffs on both wrists. He opened his eyes.
