Eric Anderson managed to make his way to the Lawsons through the woods, but didn't approach the house because of all the police around it. He knew they would try to stop him, if they were aware of what he was doing, just like they would try to stop Evan Lawson while finding Spencer and the man who hurt her.
While he was never a Boy Scout, Eric did have a few friends back in Minnesota who were members, and they let him read their copy of the Scout manual, so he knew at least the basics about tracking, despite the fact this was his first experience actually trying to do it.
He looked at the ground and soon discovered two sets of animal tracks. They were different from each other, and one was seriously larger than the other.
Eric figured that the smaller set was Spencer's, since she had cat paws that also allowed her to climb trees and other stuff.
The other set must be her father's in werewolf mode, he surmised.
While he realized that he had set out in haste without an actual plan, something Eric Anderson would never normally do, he also knew that his (girl?)friend was in trouble, and there was no way he could sit idle if there was any chance to help.
What is it about you Spencer Lawson? wondered Eric. Except for maybe my family, I wouldn't be out here for anyone else. Not even Julie Stovall, he realized.
With that, Eric tightened his grip on the aluminum baseball bat to steel his nerves, before setting off to follow the trail deeper into the woods.
MEANWHILE...
Being part feline, Spencer the hybrid were took to the closest tree and climbed. While this didn't give her much of a view of the surrounding woods, it did allow her a chance to catch her breath and keep an eye on the trail below.
Spencer was unaware that her eyes were now totally feral. All she knew was that she had to find Jeremy Bower and end this, because she refused to live the rest of her life in fear of the were-rottweiler.
I'm tired of this shit! I'm not going to let that bastard ruin my life any more! Then maybe Eric and I—
Then Spencer stopped, for that last thought totally surprised her.
What is it about him? she asked herself yet again. The guy's a year younger than me AND a normal! Yet in the short time I've known him, Eric's treated me far better than any guy I've ever known. Even better than my own father. Maybe...
But that thought would remain unfinished, for Spencer paused, spotting someone on the trail below.
It was...???
(NOTE: It's too soon for Eric Anderson to be a potential option in the choices below.)
