"Mary, Mary"
Mary was woken from her strange dream by the voice of a small child. She had dreamed that she was a horse, running wild and free in a field. She opened her eyes, and saw that she was in a pen in a barn. A large apple hovered in front of her face. She reached her muzzle forward and greedily gobbled it down.
She felt a small hand massaging her snout.
"Good, girl. Good Mary, " said Amy.
Mary turned her head to get a good look at the girl. She was dressed in a cotton nightgown, hanging on the side of her pen. Mary looked for the vial, but the only thing she had in her hands was another apple.
"Sorry, Mary. I knew my stupid brother wouldn't feed you, so I brought you a little snack. You must be so hungry. Here, have another, " said Amy as she fed her the other apple. "I brought the vial for you, just like I promised but..."
Mary listened, her heart thundering. Was the child going to leave her like this.
"But...I wish you could stay with us. You are so cool, and the vials are awesome. I...I dont have many friends, and with Mom nearly about to lose the farm, I dont know what to do. I wish...I wish I could figure something out..." She offered out the vial.
"But....you have a right to be you."
