Mary settled into the life of a horse rather quickly, strange to say. It was weird, but being around other horses in the paddocks, enjoying the sun and the hay ... Mary began to relax. Amy visited her every day, sometimes at night, and lay next to her in the stall. IT was clear, the child cared deeply for her, despite her own misgivings, Mary began to care deeply for the child. She even forgave her what she had done, after all, she was only a little girl, she didn't quite understand everything.
Eventually, one night, Amy came to her and buried her face against Mary's flank. "Mary....I know I did a bad thing. I just...I wanted to have someone who would be my friend. But...but what I did was wrong."
She held out a vial. Mary couldn't quite read it with her horse's eyes. But Mary offered it to her. "Im sorry....can you forgive me?'
