Mary Gone Wild

added by JosieHadley 7 years ago O

Mary ran through the woods with great speed, shifting between a bipedal and quadruped stance. Mary was furious, and growled as she ran.

That stupid dog, thought Mary angrily. He tricked me! He stole my life!

As she continued to run, she startled a coyote in the brush ahead of her. It was a stringy, mangy creature, on the brink of starvation. It stood its ground, snarling angrily at Mary.

Mary didn't have time for this. How dare that creature challenge her? She swiped at it with one massive claw, slicing through it's throat and nearly decapitating it. A jet of warm blood squirted from its neck and onto Mary's body.

Mary looked at her hand in shock. She knew she was strong now, but the power of her swipe surprised her. She looked at her hand and flexed. Looking at the poor quivering creature, she realized how much bigger she was compared to it. She was probably the size of a bear, and with more muscle mass. She could probably even take down a bear, if the need arose. She smiled and flexed her powerful muscles.

Yes, this will work nicely, thought Mary. I will get my revenge on you, Mary .... I mean, Max.

She shook her head, trying to clear her muddy thoughts. Her animal instincts were strong, and they didn't require her to use much thought. It was easy to rely on them, and relax her human way of thinking, which just seemed to slow her down. But Mary knew she was still human inside, and she tried to focus on her memories.

That is right, isn't it? thought Mary.

It was all so confusing, and she found it hard to think clearly. She was Mary, and the girl who looked like Mary was Max. Max was a dog, who looked human. She was a human, who looked like a dog.

Yes, that is right, thought Mary, and she involuntarily began to wag her tail happily.

She tried to reassure herself, but her thinking still seemed muddy. What she did know was that the girl was bad, and should be punished. She should be hurt.

But first things first. I am hungry, and I need to eat, though Mary, as her stomach rumbled loudly.

Some drool leaked down her snout, and she licked her lips. She tasted a small amount of the coyote's blood. It was good, salty and warm. She licked her paws clean. But she was still hungry. She eyed the corpse of the animal and felt a strange craving.

I am not really going to do this, am I? thought Mary. Her stomach responded with a growl, and her ravenous hunger seemed to double in intensity. She looked at the animal again.

Well, it is already dead. And it is just an animal. It's not like it's person. Humans eat animals all the time, she thought.

She bent down and began to eat, tearing off chunks of raw meat, and greedily devouring them. Her disgust was quickly forgotten by the euphoria of a full stomach. She looked up and saw that the sky was dark. She had lost track of time while enjoying her meal. She began to explore the forest, easily navigating in the dark with her enhanced vision. She needed to find a nice place to rest. She could deal with the girl - with the one now calling itself Mary - in the morning.
