Jeff was scared and confused. Not sure what button to press, she decided to stay with the previous reality. Wouldn't that be her as a human male, and not a doe?
After she hit the button, the computer screen changed. "Previous reality retained."
Nothing happened for a few seconds, then the room faded away again. Jeff wanted to scream as the walls of her room turned back into the snow covered thicket she had left only a few moments before. In just a few moments, all was still and silent again, and she felt like weeping.

Days passed into weeks. Jeff still retained her human knowledge, but the shock of the forced transformation had melded to the two halves together more seamlessly. There was no fighting between two competeing intersts. Jeff was a doe now, and as far as she knew, she would always be one.
It was several weeks before she began to realize what had happened, even if she'd suspected it from the first few hours. As her body thickened up, she realized that the buck had made her pregnant, and for some reason the Chronovac wouldn't change her back during that process. She figured that if she'd chosed differently, she'd have been turned into a pregnant woman.
She held out hope that she would turn back once she gave birth, but as time passed it became less and less important to her.
The small group of deer that had formed for protection in the winter slowly began to dispurse once spring arrived. Jeff instinctivly found a quiet, lonely spot in the woods where she gave birth to two fawns.
