Being a fan of the various Moon Lake stories, I appreciate and enjoy the work of Wolf Girl Lover, Xander6981, s1, The Masked Writer, The Werewolf Prince, Blackjack88, etc.
However, while the recent union of the Julie Stovall and Eric Anderson characters (on what I presume is Earth-1) was great, and I can understand the alternate take of Earth-2 with Eric currently leaning toward Spencer Lawson instead; in my humble opinion, there is just something about Eric's grief driven decision to become a werewolf on Earth-3 that seems... "off" to me, hence the following.
If I'm out of line posting this, the next author can always go back an episode and carry on from there, and just consider this another dead end on the CYOC.net highway.
Ben Twist drove his friends and neighbors the Andersons to the wolf pack meeting that night. Mrs. Anderson sat in the front seat next to Ben, while her sons Nate and Eric sat in the back. All were silent, for Eric had decided that he wanted to become a werewolf (like Nate and Ben) to be in a position to help people and prevent tragedies like the rogue werevixen Yvette Smith killing his father.
Ben's parents, the lesbian werecat couple Samantha and Frances Twist, were following in their car.
Soon they arrived at the designated spot and were met by the pack's Alpha, Austin Perry, Senior.
"Nate. Ben. Good to see you. Samantha and Frances, haven't seen you two in ages. You're looking good. Mrs. Anderson, again, my most sincerest condolences," said Austin, greeting the new arrivals.
Then, as Ben and Nate led the others towards the formal ceremony site, Austin addressed Eric. "Okay. As I told you earlier, how this works is that I'll say a few words, then you pick who you want to induct you. With that decision made, the two of you go off into the woods alone. Take your time and enjoy it," he advised.
All I want to do is become a werewolf so I'm not weak any more, was Eric's unspoken thought.
"When you've completed your first transformation, you howl. Everyone present joins in to welcome you, and that's basically the ceremony."
"Understood," was Eric's only reply. The sex may be fun, but it will also serve a higher purpose.
"You still haven't decided who you want to give the honor to though, huh?" wondered Austin.
"My only preference on that is female," said Eric. Let's get on with this!
"Okay. Then there are going to be several single and young she-wolves to pick from. Choose wisely," advised Austin, as he led Eric to the gathering.
Eric stood by his mother and brother as Austin approached the active fire pit in the center of the clearing. With his back to the Andersons, Austin made a quick hand motion to indicate "female", which resulted in a shift of the crowd in front of him.
Then the wolf pack Alpha raised his hands skyward, indicating the demand for silence. When the last of the crowd murmurs faded, Austin addressed them.
"Family. Friends. Honored guests. Fellow wolves. Tonight is a joyous occasion for any pack, as we prepare to welcome a new member. Eric Anderson, please step forward."
Eric silently did so, until he was standing on the opposite side of the fire pit from Austin.
"Eric Anderson," began the Alpha, looking directly at him, "do you solemnly swear to—"
"STOP!" cried a voice, as everyone turned in shock to see a young blonde haired female running towards them.
"OH ERIC!" sobbed Julie Stovall, with new tears streaming down already well stained cheeks. "Please don't do this darling. I BEG YOU!"
Eric turned to look at her, but said nothing.
"I LOVE YOU ERIC!" screamed Julie, approaching him. "Don't you love me too?"
In the crowd, Samantha whispered to her wife, "We might need you Frances. I'm gonna call the Stovalls and get them over here fast!" as she reached for her cellphone.
"I've loved you from the moment I first saw you in the hallway, and love at first sight is a proven fact for were-mers. You're my soul mate Eric. Don't you feel that way too?" Julie demanded to know.
He just looked down at the ground, still silent.
"I know losing your dad has been a traumatic experience, but don't throw your future away like this!" said Julie between tearful sobs. "We're supposed to be together, forever, once we declare our love for each other and consummate our relationship. I TRULY LOVE YOU ERIC ANDERSON! DON'T YOU LOVE ME TOO?" Julie screamed.
Eric just stood there, silent, as Julie Stovall started a new crying jag.
In the end, there was only one decision as far as he was concerned.
His mission.
With that, Eric turned back to face the pack Alpha and said, "Can we please get on with this?"
"NO!" screamed Julie, shocked that her Eric would say such a thing.
Austin Perry wasn't sure how or if to proceed from here as Julie shouted, "If Eric Anderson becomes a werewolf, then one of you other damn werewolves better kill me now, because he's just ripped my heart out!"
With that, Julie Stovall let out a final, mournful sob and fainted.
