True to form, Sally was a complete bimbo. John and Sally walked together to classes, made out between classes and during lunch, and Sally would not shut up... ever. There was a constant stream of, "Like, OMG, can you believe that Jessica wore a blue scarf with that orange print shirt? Hasn't she, like, been to art class since, like, ever? It is a total disaster."
Through the constant rambling over the last week, or as John liked to think, the time between blowjobs, he picked up that Sally hated Jessica. This wasn't a big surprise, she was head cheerleader and was dating Brad, captain of the football team. Both were popular and well liked individually throughout school. Unlike the normal cliche, Brad wasn't a jerk, and Jessica wasn't stuck up. They were genuine and likable people.
Things came to a head when, though the drone, Sally mentioned, "You should date Jessica and I should date Brad. We would both move up in popularity and..."
"But you and I are dating each-other and I don't care about popularity." John interjected.
"I know." was all Sally said, leaving a deafening silence in the loud, crowded hall way.
"I'll catch you later." was all John could think to say as the warning bell rung.
All throughout class, he felt mixed emotions, Brad wasn't trying to steal his girl, but he was. At the very least John liked the blowjobs and wanted to keep Sally around. John thought about Brad and what was attracting Sally to him. The "strange attraction" he set up for her got them together but it isn't keeping them together. She has a desired type, and he isn't it.
John tried thinking like Sally but that was unexpectedly difficult. Though her thoughts aren't deep, they are based off a wide array of gossip, history, and knowledge of topics john was unfamiliar with, like clothes.
After class he caught up with Sally who was engrossed in texting all her BFF's he invited her over and promised her a big surprise. "OMG, Marcie broke up with Tom, because she caught Tom staring at Kelly's butt. Yeah, yeah, I'll be there later."
Feeling ignored, John planted a long kiss on her, which she reciprocated. Smiling she said, "I'll come straight over."
Satisfied, John got on the bus and waited for his stop.
