Kayla scooped James up and held him at eye level, her beautiful face now several times the size of his entire body.
"Sorry, but I wouldn't be much of a witch if I never turned anyone into a frog right?" she smiled "Don't worry though, I'll turn you back into a handsome prince soon enough. But unfortunately I've pretty much used up my powers for tonight - it will have to wait until tomorrow. I hope that's not a problem?"
James ribbited in response. Kayla giggled.
"I'd love to take you back to my place, but my father hates when I do stuff like this. Also, he wouldn't want you seeing what goes on in our house. It's kind of ...different."
James croaked. Whatever he was trying to say, only he knew.
"So here's what we're going to do. There's a nice, big pond ten minutes walk from here. You can spend the rest of the day and tonight there, it should be perfectly safe. Just look at it as a unique and once in a lifetime experience. I'll swing by tomorrow morning and restore you. And don't worry - I will make all of this worth your while when you are human again, I promise."
She winked seductively. James had no idea if she was a friend or foe at this point, but there was nothing he could do either way. A few minutes later he was sitting at the side of a pond which could have been a river to him in it's size. All sorts of water creatures were going about there business nearby, suddenly his own size or larger and appearing almost as completely new and unfamiliar beasts to him. Yet somehow, probably thanks to Kayla's magic, it all felt perfectly normal.
"I'll see you tomorrow" Kayla had told him just before leaving "Just make sure you are here. If I can't find you, I can't turn you back."
James figured all he could do was sit and wait for the apparently friendly sorceress to return. And hope he could trust her.
