As the stork carried Johnny up and away from Spelstorm manner, the blanket around him began to get warmer and damper. At first he thought it might b leakage from the soiled diaper, but then he realized the diaper was gone. Johnny fidgeted a little, but had no strength in his infant's limbs to do more than squirm. He felt really confused. Even as young as he was, he knew that storks did not really deliver babies - that was a silly story for really little kids. Babies grew inside of mommies.
The blanket pulled tighter, and he felt warm wetness now, liquid sloshing around his body, getting higher. The blanket was filling with water! But it did not feel like water. Not quite. Was he going to drown? Johnny started to feel a little scared, but it was so pleasant, so warm and safe in this place, that he could not really worry. A dull booming started to build as the liquid reached his chin, his mouth, and finally totally surrounded him. Johnny struggled for just a second as he drew in a breath that filled his lungs with the warm liquid, and then he stopped breathing. He did not need to breathe. Feeling very sleepy and content, Johnny relaxed, though he was still tightly curled within the warm, dark place. Part of him realized he was inside a mommy now. The stork had delivered him to someone or something. As he drifted off into sleep, Johnny wondered who or what he would wake up as when he was reborn.
