"Hmmm.....How old are you, kid? " asked Anna.
"I'm seventeen. But I'll be eighteen in a few months," said Randy quickly.
Anna sighed. "That's a shame. You can't choose your transformation without you parent's permission until you are eighteen. And you certainly can't choose to stay here forever until then. Those are the rules, " said Anna.
Randy dropped his head down, crestfallen.
Anna bent her neck down and lifted Randy's snout with her own.
"Hey, cheer up kid. Just because we aren't supposed to do it, doesn't mean we can't . After all, rules were made to be broken. And it might be a good idea for you to try being a draft horse for a while before deciding to be one for your whole life. It's very rewarding, but it is also very hard work. You might not like it as much as you think," said Anna.
Randy scoffed. "I know what I'm doing. I may only be seventeen, but I am smarter than most adults I know. I think I know what is best for me. I want to be a draft horse. It's what I was meant to be. My destiny, " said Randy smugly.
Anna rolled her eyes. Teenagers could be so annoyingly self-confident. She was beginning to have second thoughts. But it was better for the kid to get it out of his system. She doubted he could handle being a draft horse permanently with that attitude.
"Okay, if you're sure. We are not supposed to do this, but I have a few human friends that owe me some favors. They can slip you another serum that will make you a draft horse. But you have to pretend to be someone else. No one else can know that you are now a draft horse, even your friends. I'll just tell them you decided to go home, and my human friends will take care of the paperwork. But you have to keep your mouth shut about what we did and who you really are! I am sticking my neck out for you, and I don't want you to chop it off!" said Anna.
"I'll be careful, I promise, " said Randy.
Anna sighed. She didn't know why she was putting her ass on the line for this kid. Maybe it was because she knew what it was like to be young and confused. Or maybe she just felt sorry for him. He was a little pathetic. She didn't want to admit it, but part of her was happy to be rid of him. Her job would be much easier with him out of her mane. The others seemed much more willing to accept her instructions.
"Okay, I need to talk to some people. Just hang around your assigned stall, and I'll come get you when the arrangements have been made. Remember, you are no longer Randy. So start thinking of another name for yourself. I won't be able to Counsel you anymore, but you can look me up if you have any problems, " said Anna.
"Thanks, Anna .... for everything. I won't let you down. And sorry for being so rude earlier, " said Randy.
Anna smiled. It was the first time the kid had been civil to her. Maybe he wasn't so bad after all.
"Don't worry about it. The purpose of our resort is to help people live out their dreams. I just hope this brings you the happiness you are looking for. Now get to work on your new name and identity," said Anna.
Randy smiled, and began to go through different names in his head.
