Ryan reluctantly dialed the number on the screen, ready to be greeted by a machine or a hokey woman with a fake gypsy accent. Instead, all he heard was a sweet, older woman on the other line.
"Ah, so you decided to call! Thank you so much for trusting me. I have some good news for you, Ryan", said the voice.
"Ok, but first. How did you know my name, and that I just broke up with Kristin?", asked Ryan accusingly.
"I simply felt that you could use a picker upper, and I know breakups are hard. Please Ryan, let me give you your fortune.", she said.
"Well, ok, I guess so. How does this work?" he asked.
"I'm not like other psychics, Ryan. I don't tell people what is in their future. Instead, I give them ways to make a new future, however they want that future to look. Now, since Kristin was a big part of your past, I think it will be very meaningful if we start off your new life with her. Does that sound good?"
"Actually that sounds great. I could use some closure. What do I need to do?"
"First I need you to walk into your closet. I believe Kristin left some personal items here, and we will be needing them"
Ryan walked into his closet, and sitting in the corner was Kristin's weekend bag. That's funny, he thought, surely she would have remembered to take it with her. "Once you have found her bag, empty it out and tell me everything that is in it."
"Ok, I found it! It looks like she left some of her clothes, and her makeup. She left a pair of jeans, a Sunday dress, flats, a black shirt, a black bra, a black thong, a pair of pink panties, her makeup bag, and a necklace. What do you want me to do with these?"
