Danny couldn't believe what he heard. How could a jeep be a brother? He hopped into his truck and headed over to Greg's house.
In the meantime, bill and Greg logged back in to the Chronivac and reverted Jeff back into a jeep. He just sat there, idling like a normal vehicle.
Bill cracks open the computer control panel and finds the input port.
"Can we hook this up to the Chronivac to see if there is any way to bring Jeff's program back?"
Just then, Danny rolls in and joins them. "Don't know about a choni-whatzit; but I can maybe revert the firmware upgrade. Let me jack in my laptop."
Danny plugs in and scans Jeff's chips.
"I found a backup of the previous file! Looks smaller than I remember, though."
"Well-" said Bill, "Give it a try."
Danny reverts the firmware upgrade; and then reboots Jeff's system. The circuitry ad its activity indicator lights start blinking.
The speaker suddenly blares "Beeerrrrrd flazzzzzzzzht clizzzzzz op zzzzzzt DON'T DO THAT!"
"Jeff?! Do what?" Greg asked.
"System rebooted. I am Jeep model Jeff #001. My last memory is of Danny porting into my brain and trying to deleting me. I guess he wasn't successful?"
"He was successful- you didn't have a mind when we last transformed you back to human."
"What do you mean human? I am a jeep."
"You know- back into being my son!" Bill replied.
"How can I be your son? I am a jeep. You turned on my ignition for the first time 36 hours 27 minutes and 16 seconds ago."
"Ooh dude- his human memories were not restored!" Said Greg.
