You swam to your now pink-tailed girlfriend and grabbed her arm, wrenching her from her make-out partner's grip. "We got to get out of here!" You shout, as your fins propel you through the water faster than you could ever run on land. Sally, in a show of agreement, kept perfect pace with you as you raced along the coastline, until you came to a set of rocks concealing a narrow strip of land.
After confirming the mermaids were not in pursuit, the two of you surfaced and swam to the shore. You climbed out of the water, slapping your blue tail on the ground as you flopped away from the tide. "What are you doing, Eric?" Sally asked.
"Seeing if this is like those stories where mermaids get human legs when their tails dry off."
"Well, who am I to question pop-culture logic, seeing as we're now creatures of myth?" Sally said as she flopped her way up next to you.
Fearful of what the mermaids said about being like them in mind, the two fish-tailed girls held each other close in one another's arms as they waited for confirmation of Eric's theory. The two felt a strange sense of calm in each others' embrace, going so far as for each of them to put a hand on one of the others' breasts.
