You look down in amazement at Lydia the toad who is sitting on a pile of the clothes she had been wearing and croaking something that you are obviously unable to translate. She makes no attempt to hop away from you, and you are unsure whether that is because she is still in shock or because she still has her human mind and realises you are the only chance she has of returning to human form.
When you bend down and pick her up Lydia doesn't resist and soon you are holding her close to your face, realising you must look like a giant to her now. Her skin feels rough and dry but not as gross as you might have expected. She just looks like a totally regular toad, there is nothing to distinguish her from the ones you have seen before at the pond in your local park, but something tells you the girl you were conversing with moments ago is still in there.
"Lydia, if you can understand me please croak three times" you ask.
"Ribbit! Ribbit! Ribbit!" comes the response.
Part of you feels a huge wave of excitement - you just turned a real life woman into a toad. You must be a wizard or something! But another part feels bad. She seemed like a nice girl with ambitions to become a famous singer and you had no right to take away her humanity like that. You know you have to put it right.
"Um, I'm really sorry. I didn't actually think that would work" you confess. Lydia croaks at you and you are glad you can't understand her response.
"Look, if I kiss you again maybe you will turn back. If not I, um, well I'm sure this will wear off eventually and I'll make sure you don't get eaten or anything. But, uh, I guess I'm going to kiss you now ok?"
Moving Lydia towards your lips this certainly isn't as tempting as kissing the gorgeous redhead before, but you fear this may be your only hope...
