Eric and Spencer finished their lunch (burgers and fries) at the diner and then went about their merry way. She was just extremely happy to be out and about in public during the day without having to worry about breaking the public daytime were laws and he was just happy to be with her.
As with many small towns, most of the local businesses were closed Sundays, so Eric and Spencer just walked around and window shopped, the conversation nothing more serious than the possibilities held within their upcoming first Christmas together. Neither knew what to do if Kendra and Nate were really through in their relationship, let alone knew another werepanthress who might help usher Eric into were society (for he still believed logistically, panther was the best choice to keep up with Spencer's hybrid were wolf/panthress-cat form), but that was something they would worry about later, when they could discuss the matter just between the two of them more privately.
Spencer paused in front of the Moon Lake Second Hand/Used to New store, looking at some of the antiques in the window, when she caught a glimpse of someone staring at them across the street via a large, free standing vanity mirror for sale.
Concerned, but not wanting to make a rash move on the off chance it turned out to be nothing, Spencer led Eric around the corner, where they both stopped and stared at the coming attractions posters at the movie house. The Moon Lake Cinema was not prestigious enough to show anything first run, but was far cheaper than spending the money on a DVD of a movie you might not like.
Wanting to make the move look as natural as possible, Spencer put her arm around Eric, pulled him close and kissed her boyfriend, briefly keeping one eye open just enough to see the same man again.
"Don't panic Slugger, but we're being followed," Spencer warned him, as they started walking away from the movie theater.
To his credit, Eric didn't turn around and look, but did hold her hand a bit tighter as he asked, "Are you sure?"
"Afraid so. Now here's the plan," she replied.
Sean Walker waited a moment after the kids rounded the next corner before moving closer to continue tailing them.
He still didn't know what the "secret" of Moon Lake was, but was more determined than ever to find out, especially after seeing Evan Lawson's daughter totally injury free out and about barely a week after her incident with Jeremy Bower Junior.
The kids just seemed to be out for a stroll (who did that in this day and age?) and what passed for Moon Lake's downtown area was dead that Sunday afternoon, which made following them more difficult, but as a veteran FBI agent, he was confident of succeeding.
As he approached the corner from across the street, he saw the two of them just standing there, necking. The daughter was a couple of inches taller than her date and with her back to him, Walker didn't know that while she would of preferred kissing Eric, she was taking advantage of the temporary screening to text her dad.
In the Lawson household, Maggie, Evan, and his father Mike were sitting down for a late lunch, and actually getting along for the moment, when Evan's cellphone rang, the tone specific to Spencer's.
When he read the message, Evan told Maggie to call the police and that he might need Mike's help, for trouble appeared ready to knock on the Lawson's front door again, as he laid the phone down on the table so all could see the message.
