"I wish to be a faun." Amy said.
"A faun?" Mary asked, not sure what she meant.
"Yeah like Mister Tumnus, only a girl and still little." The child said. She pulled out a book from her pack and showed her a picture of what appeared to be a boy with the horns, legs and hooves of a goat. "This is a faun."
Mary studied it. "Why do you want to be that?"
The girl pouted, "Cause! And its my wish."
Mary chuckled to herself. She didn't know if she really had that power. Even before she could think about it though, she felt something trickling through her fingers. Looking down she saw a golden energy pouring from her fingers and forming a sort of magic dust that began to float around Amy.
"W...whats going on," Mary exclaimed.
Amy however was too lost in the magic herself to know or answer if her imagination gave her some indication. To Mary, she saw the girl's hair start to kink and curl as more freckles dotted her face. Her ears grew to points as small horns grew from her skull. Her shirt remained on her torso, but her pants suddenly vanished, revealing the furry legs of a goat, even as a little tail grew out and flicked behind her. The child's sneakers shifted as she came to tiptoe, then the shoes vanished leaving her with little cloven hooves.
The magic faded and Amy fell back on her behind, sprawled with hooves outstretched. At first she looked confused, and then she smiled with delight as she saw the changes. "I'm a faun!"
