The afternoon sun beat down on Jared as he tramped home. His clothing was plastered to his body by the time he reached the house. No one else was home, so he went upstairs to the bathroom, and stripped out of his sweaty clothes. The medallion skidded across the floor and under the old claw foot tub. Jared put the stopper in the drain, and turned the spigots on. Water flowed into the tub. Jared got down on the floor and stretched his arm underneath the tub as far as he could until his fingernail caught hold of the medallion and he pulled it out. The water was starting to overflow from the tub, so Jared reached over with both hands to turn off the spigots, and dropped the medallion into the tub.
"Oh, great!" sighed Jared, "Well, I might as well wash the medallion and myself at the same time."
He climbed into the tub, and sat down.
"Ah!" He put his arms behind his head and let the hot water soothe his sore body.
He didn't notice the tiny bubbles effervescent coming from the medallion. Nor did he notice the clear water changing grey green. Nor did he notice the effervescent bubbles collecting on his body hairs.
