Bethany’s eyes winced open at the screeching of her alarm clock. Pulling herself out of bed, she tapped down on the alarm clock, silencing her bedroom in an instant. Sunlight was already streaming in behind her chartreuse mini blinds, bathing the walls of her apartment in a soft yellow hue.
She’d never really liked the color, but it was all the store had when she first moved in and she’d just never bothered to replace them.
It was 8:43 in the morning. Even if it was her day off of work at the hospital, she’d hit the snooze button more times than she’d wanted.
All the same, she was just glad she was getting away from all the monotonous scrubs, snobbish doctors, and demanding patients for a day. Of course, for her, spending a day outdoors was always something to look forward to.
With a slight smile, she strode over to her bedroom window and pushed one of the blinds open enough for her to peak out of. There were a few clouds dotting the sky, and she could feel the cool early morning air resonating off the glass, but, for the most part, it was a perfect day.
