While Vivian continued her work out in the living room, Karen, Jen, and Tad were in the kitchen, making lunch.
"What would you like for lunch sweetie," Karen asked Tad as she got out four plates from the cabinet, laying each one down on the counter as she got them out.
"I'm not that hungry, so a peanut butter and jelly is fine by me," Tad said, pulling out a knife and some peanut butter.
"Mom, where do you keep the jelly?," Jen asked as she got the bread out.
"In the fridge honey," Karen said as she put two slices of bread on each plate.
Jen walked over to the fridge and pulled out the jelly, putting it next to the peanut butter as Tad opened the peanut butter and started to spread it on four of the eight slices of bread, while putting jelly on the other. As Karen went to get the peanut butter and the jelly to put them away, Tad stopped her.
"I'll put them away for you guys," he said, grabbing both the peanut butter and jelly and putting them back where they belong. He then carried each plate to the table and set them down.
"Vivian!," Karen yelled, "Lunch is ready! Tad made peanut butter and jelly for us all."
Tad heard the workout program in the living room pause, and Vivian walked into the kitchen and sat down at the table with Karen, Jen, and Tad.
"You made us lunch Tad?," Vivian asked as she took a bite into her sandwich, "How very thoughtful!"
"Just like your father," Karen stated.
Tad blushed and scratched his head. "I guess I have you two, Josephine, and Jacob to thank for raising my parents so well so they could raise me just as well."
"He so sweet and kind!," Vivian whispered to Jen, "I can see why that girl fell for him. If I were his age, I think I'd be head over heels for someone like him."
Jen smiled. "I know," she whispered to her mother, "I guess I have you to thank for all you've done to raise me so I could pass it on to him. He sees the good in everything and everyone, though."
"What's wrong with that?," Vivian asked, "I thought that's how you wanted to raise him."
"It is," Jen responded, "It's just that I'm worried for him. He may be a werewolf, but he isn't one who has fighting in his nature. He's more of a pacifist. If Lionel does come after him, what will he do to defend himself?"
"He's got all of us to protect him," Vivian responded.
"But what if we're not there if he comes for Tad?"
Vivian put her arm around Jen. "He'll be fine Jen," she said, "Look at him. I'm sure he knows if and when he needs to fight."
Jen smiled. "Thanks mom," she said, letting out a slight purr.
