Audrey heard the ecstatic braying and gave a sour smile. "I guess someone's having a good time" she muttered.
Jess laughed. "Oh my goddess, is that Robin? I always wondered if he would be happier in another form!"
"Mule-man and Robin-jenny make each other happy!" said Mika with a cheerful grin. She seemed happier than she had ever been as the wizard's disciple.
"Am I the only one here who is still in the same body she was born in?" asked Audrey.
Jess gave Audrey a quick peck on the cheek. "Not much we can do about that, my love, until we can find the rock!"
Audrey suddenly realized that there was a bright side to not having the rock--or access to wizard-Mika's transformation spells. She liked the body she was in very much.

Miles away, a decrepit old woman picked her way along the road with the aid of a cane. She bent down, and picked up a rock from a pile of them by the side of the road. "There you are, my little darling. Come to mama."
