After Claire and Barbara left the photography classroom, the two started to walk towards the main hall. "We should meet with the dean," Barbara said as they walked. "He's a really nice man, and he's a weretiger to boot."
"Really?" Claire asked, suddenly looking more interested.
"Yup," Barbara said as she smiled. "And if you're thinking of transferring here to Moon Lake College, he's definitely someone you want to meet."
After going to the main hall, Barbara talked with the secretary and told her that he wanted to speak to Dean Meyers. After speaking briefly on the phone, the secretary told the two that he would be out soon. The door to the dean's office opened and out walked a rather imposing man. He walked up to the two girls and reached out his hand. "Hi," he said, "I'm the dean, Mr. Meyers. You must be Claire Robertson?"
"Um," Claire started as she was rather intimidated by the rather imposing man. After a few seconds, she reached out her hand to his and shook it. "Yes. Yes I am. How did you know?"
He smiled and said, "Sasha is my daughter, and she told me you ran into her last night."
"Oh," Claire responded as she thought for a moment about last night, "Yes, I remember now. I did run into your daughter."
"Why don't you two come on in to my office?" he said as he gestured towards the door. The three walked into his office and he sat behind his desk while the two sat on the other side. "So," he started, "I understand that you're thinking of transferring here."
"Yes, I'm interested in your photography program," Claire responded.
"Ah, yes. We have a really good program here at MLC. Many of our graduates end up going to all sorts of places, but mostly newspapers and magazines. Most of the work end up going on to the Internet recently."
"Wow," Claire responded.
"We are quite proud of our graduates here, and the work they've done." Mr. Meyers pointed out some of the awards and pictures of the previous graduates.
"I think I'll like it here," Claire said. "Barbara showed me all sorts of things and I've met all sorts of people. This place is neat."
Mr. Meyers smiled as he sat back and said, "Excellent. And I'm sure you'll do well here, and considering that you know about our population here, it'll all work out. So, I understand that you know about the...people here?"
"Yes," Claire said as she thought about her visit here so far. "At first, I was a bit scared. But the people here are so nice, I've got a mind to join them."
"Oh?" Mr. Meyers said with a raised eyebrow. "Any idea which group you want to join?"
"Well," Claire said as she thought, "I've been interested in the werewolves. I've met Barbara and Ryan Connor, and they seem to be a nice group."
"Ah, Ryan Connor. He's a good man." Mr. Meyers responded as he thought.
"But I also want to consider becoming a weretiger too. I've only seen one so far, but that's about it."
"That's interesting," Mr. Meyers responded with a bigger smile. "I happen to be a weretiger myself."
"Really?" Claire said with a bit of excitement in her voice. "Could you, um, show me?"
Mr. Meyers chuckled and said, "I would, but not here and not now. But I can tell you that there is a pride meeting tonight, and you can learn about weretiger society there if you want. I could bring you along as my guess."
"Really?" Claire said with her eyes wide open, "But, would that mean that I would have to be changed..."
"No," Mr. Meyers said, "No one is going to do anything to you that you don't want. You're more than welcome to be my guest. If you do decide to become a weretiger, I'm sure we can arrange something, but for now, you'll be our guest and no one will lay a claw on you."
"So, when is this again?" Claire asked.
"Tonight. How about I pick you up at six?" Mr. Meyers asked.
Claire nodded as she said, "I'd like that."
"Well, if there's nothing else, I hope you two have a good day," Mr. Meyers said as he stood up and shook both of their hands. The two walked out of the office with a big smile on Claire's face.
"See?" Barbara said as she looked at the smiling Claire, "I told you he was a nice guy."
"Yeah, you're right," Claire agreed. "And I can't wait for tonight."
"Thinking of joining the weretigers?" Barbara asked.
"Maybe," Claire replied. The two walked to the admissions office to work on some paperwork. Afterwards, they returned to the apartment for a few hours as Claire got ready for tonight's meeting.
