I knew running was out of the question. If I did that, her predatory instincts would kick in and she would have to chase me. It was part of her nature now. Scaring her off was out of the question as well. If she still had her mind in tact, I would need every bit of information I could get my hands on. What to say, though. How could I convince her that I was on her side? Licking my lips, I sized her up one final time before raising an eyebrow. "So...are you going to give me a five second head start?, or would you rather just talk." That got a reaction out of her instantly. The snarling stopped as her eyes widened, followed by a skeptical glare, her gold eyes hiding her thoughts. Thankfully for me, I was used to that kind of glare. Don't get me wrong, my mind was more alert than ever now that the initial reaction was over. But my curiosity outweighed my sense of danger. "Look," I said. "I've got only one plan at the current moment, and I need all the information I can get. You gonna help or what?"
