The plot thickens... (Earth-2)

added by blackjack88 7 years ago O

Julie was practically fuming in her seat during first period. She could hardly concentrate on the teacher’s voice.

“What the fuck?” she thought over and over. Since when did Eric, Eric fucking Anderson, rebound so fast? Julie liked to think he spent his vacation crying or being his usual weirdo self (reading textbooks or watching NOVA specials). But was it possible that while she was on house arrest, with next to no privileges, Eric had moved on with some other girl. And Julie could only think of the one.

“It couldn’t be Spencer, could it? How could Eric possibly interest her? She’s so… and Eric’s…”

Julie shook the thought from her head, it seemed so ridiculous. Only when the bell rang, and she was able to catch up with some of her girl fiends did Julie realize how right she was. She and Lisa walked down the second floor hallway to their next class, completely unaware of how close to Eric they actually were. Their classroom was only three doors down from his.

But as usual Eric was too busy reading something to notice those walking, and in this case whispering, around him.

“Hey, Julie did you see Eric this morning?” Lisa finally asked once they were outside the classroom door.

“Why?” Julie said passively. The last thing she wanted anyone to know was that she was jealous of Eric. But inside she felt her heart pumping faster and faster.

“How do you not already know? He and Spencer Lawson are like a THING now.”

“Ya and I’m the queen of Sheba. Seriously, Eric and Spencer? That’s like Stephen Hawking dating Milla Jovovich. Are you sure it’s Eric we’re talking about and not Nate? I mean, I could see Nate with Spencer. But Eric?” Julie rolled her eyes.

Not in a hundred years would she have thought Eric could land someone like Spencer. Who, according to rumors, was about as unruly and aloof as a person could be. Then again, Julie didn’t understand why she’d been so attracted to Eric in the first place.

“Hey, I’m just repeating what I heard. Besides, the two walked into school holding hands and kissing. If they’re not a couple, then they’re REALLY good friends.” Lisa shrugged.

“Is Eric still normal?”

“Ya, figures right? He lands you, and now he lands Spencer but the guy is still too much of a weeny to actually do anything. I totally get why you dumped him. Wanna take bets for how long it takes until Spencer gets bored with him? I say it’ll only last the week.” Lisa joked. Julie threw her friend a fake laugh, while inside sighing.

Eric was normal, so at least she could continue with her plan. Though things got a little complicated since he was seeing someone else. Of course, Julie was a bit happy she’d get the added bonus of making Eric cheat on his girlfriend if her plan worked. So not only would she turn him into a weremer, she’d probably ruin his relationship.

“Alls fair in love and war.” she thought before walking into her next class.

Further down the hall, Eric so absorbed in his book he ran into his brother, coming to talk to him. Nate came out of a room, and caught sight of his brother’s head in the sea of people.

“Hey Eric! Eric! Earth to… hey! Watch where you’re going Eric. I get you like reading, but you’re gonna cause a traffic jam.” Nate said. He’d managed to stop Eric before the two collided, and then yanked his brother to the side.

“Huh? Oh sorry Nate. What are you doing up here?” Eric asked as he put his history book back into his bag.

“Had to see a man about a time machine, what do you think? I had English.” Nate sighed. Things really were getting back to normal. Eric was just as out of touch with the rest of the universe as ever.

“Anyway, how are you doing?”

“Uh, alright? Why are you asking?” Eric looked at his brother confused to say the least.

“You haven’t seen Julie this morning?”

“Should I have?”

“No. Nevermind. Carry on.” Nate patted his brother’s head and quickly took off for his next class. No point in ruining Eric’s morning by telling him what everyone else was telling Nate.

Apparently Julie Stovall had walked into school with a down right murderous look on her face. And Nate got the feeling that it wasn’t because she’d woken up on the wrong side of the bed. Had she seen Eric walking into school with Spencer? Or had she seen the two before classes started, locked in each other’s arms outside Eric’s locker? Or…

The list went on and on. Nate was sure he was overreacting. Julie may be a cheating bitch, but she wasn’t one to hold a grudge. After all, their breakup was her fault. And Eric hadn’t planned on falling for Spencer. What was there for Julie to be angry about?
