Charlie receives a package in the mail. It's a CD and a scanner. Charlie doesn't have a big fancy computer. He just has a small portable computer with no space for a CD. But he reads the description on the CD and decides he's interested. So he borrows a friends computer in order to transfer the software onto his smaller computer. It works because the CD wasn't necessary. He could have downloaded from the Internet if TransDem had made it available that way. The only reason TransDem sent it as a CD and not available online is because they want to keep some limits on the number of testers.
Charlie is unsure if the Chronivac can really do what it claims, scientifically speaking, it should be impossible. Then again, traveling to the moon used to be impossible. Charlie decides to give it a try because if it fails, he's not out any money. But what should he try?
