"Hm," said Madame Illusia, as she scratched her head, "That doesn't usually happen." She shrugged, "I guess the raccoon tail's history, Tyler."
"Oof!" exclaimed Tyler as he jumped as the tail bones painfully pushed their way up his spine.
It was weird, he felt so much more naked now without the tail than he had before. He guessed because now part of him was missing.
Madame Illusia stared at the wheel. It should have come up with Turkey Neck, not no tail. But she hadn't been as focused as she should have been. She had willed Turkey Neck, but not focused on it. She had been looking at the fine raccoon tail, perhaps. She shook her head. No, no, it had to be her inattentiveness. She scanned the audience, and frowned for a moment.
"Let's spin again," Madame Illusia said scanning the crowd. She wasn't going to let chance influence the wheel this time, she would make sure it came up alligator tail. If it didn't that would mean someone else with power was messing with her. There were few more powerful than her, and she did her best to avoid the few that were. Could one of them be here, or was it her inattentiveness.
