Okay Folks. Before we pick up where we left off on our story; Moon Lake fan "Midnight Blue" was hoping that Claire Robertson would become a werewolf instead of a weretigress, so when that didn't happen, MB wrote the alternate "What If...?" scenario posting in the four part sequence "A Change of Heart", "Take Me in the Moonlight", "A Furry Feral Frightmare" and "We've Only Just Begun".
While posted May 4, 2016, they branch off the previous episode "Down Boy".
MEANWHILE...
It was a beautiful wedding.
Having just celebrated her fifth birthday, Wilma Anderson was the flower girl. While still years away from her first transformation, the cute hybrid werecat-werefox/vixen couldn't help but smile as she strolled down the aisle with her basket, for her mommies were getting married. She wasn't sure why they weren't before today, because she had known them her whole life, but they were happy so that made her happy.
Martha Anderson had her oldest son Nate walk her down the aisle, because there was no way she could ever contact her remaining family back in Minnesota and let them know she was remarrying, let alone to who, besides the fact she didn't want to risk any outsiders discovering the secret of Moon Lake.
Moon Lake Junior High School Girls' PE Coach Katheryn "Kat" Johnson got her (adopted) father to walk her down the aisle, because the couple had decided long before the big day that they weren't going to stand on ceremony of who was playing what role: "bride" or "groom".
Each woman wore a lovely white suit, akin to a groom's tuxedo, but both also had a long bride's veil on their heads.
Eric Anderson was Martha's best man, while Kat's best friend and assistant PE Coach was hers.
The ladies shared Samantha and Frances Twist (in more ways than one over the years) as co-Maids of Honor.
Hosted and thrown by the Twists, the bachelor/ette party the week before the wedding would still be the talk of the town for years to come. The after party only attended by a select few afterward even more so.
"And now, by the powers invested in me by the town of Moon Lake and the state of Washington, I now pronounce you a happy married couple. Ladies and gentlemen, may I present..." and then the Chaplin paused to look at his notes. "Is this right?" he asked the couple, referring to what his secretary wrote down.
"Yes," confirmed Martha, after reading what was there. "We're taking a page out of my oldest son's wedding and not standing on ceremony, because we've each taken each other's name," she revealed, while pausing to look at the happy couple of Nathaniel Anderson-Ramsey and Alexander Ramsey-Anderson, who got married between High School graduation and the start of their college education and were now living in the Ramseys basement that they had converted into a separate apartment as a wedding gift to them until the boys finished school and were able to set off on their own.
"I'm now Mrs. Johnson-Anderson, and she's now Mrs. Anderson-Johnson," said Kat proudly, to which everyone in attendance started cheering and applauding.
"You heard the ladies," said the Chaplin, as he closed his book.
Martha looked out and saw Alex approach his husband while Cassie O'Sullivan came up to stand next to Eric. The younger couple would be tying the knot themselves next summer after Eric finished his college prerequisites before joining the Moon Lake Police Academy. Cassie still had years to go before finishing med school and setting up (were) practice in Moon Lake, but Martha looked forward to both her sons making her a grandmother in time; because Alex and Nate were already talking about adopting options once they finished college and sometime after Doctor O'Sullivan was established...
"AHEM!" Martha heard a voice say, snapping her out of her thoughts.
Martha turned and saw her new wife staring at her with a huge smile on her face.
With that, Martha and Kat lifted up each other's veils and kissed to celebrate their union as the attending crowd started cheering one more.
Coach Katheryn "Kat" Johnson suddenly sat upright in her bed, wondering what the heck that was she just experienced.
The weretigress (for she always slept nude in her fursona) knew she had had dreams before, but never one so vivid, let alone was able to retain so much memory of any of them afterward.
Me and Martha... she thought, as a smile crossed her muzzle and her tail swished in contentment.
Wait a second! Martha just got confirmation earlier today she is pregnant with her late husband's last child. She hasn't even had her first OB/GYN appointment yet, she remembered.
Then she considered the dream and its potential.
Someday... Kat thought happily, then glanced at her alarm clock.
It was still hours before she had to get up and get ready to go to school.
With that, Kat eagerly went back to sleep, hoping to pick up where the dream left off and discover how their honeymoon and married life went, if not discover how the courtship before that occurred as well.
