Just as she was starting to drag herself back to the water she felt a heavy net fall over her, she screamed and tried to flop and squirm out of the net.
All of a sudden she was being dragged away from the water by a man. She screamed at him to let her go but he kept pulling. He walked up to her and picked up over his shoulder and started to walk further in land.
By now Jenny was beyond terrified, she wriggled in his grasp trying to get away. She also desperately needed water and she was only getting further and further away.
The man kept walking further away from the beach to his small cavern as she was being carried over his shoulder. By now she was feeling terribly dry, she was already gasping for water. The air felt really dry to her, she needs water now!
He sat her on the floor of his living room as she flopped weakly.
"Please" she gasped "I need water.....can barely.....breathe...." she rasped out.
"You know.... mermaids are worth a lot of money.... I wouldn't have to work for the rest of my life, I'd finally be able to do whatever I want...."
"Please.....put me in some water.....at least in a tub..... I'll make it worth your while...."
"You're worth a lot...alive or not, but I'm in a good mood, so I'll help you out a bit...." he walked over to the sink and filled a cup of water.
"Here, make the most of it, I'll be back later and oh yeah, I don't have a tub".
She drank about half of the cup of water then poured the rest all over herself as best as she could. It helped a little for now.
Since he left it gave her enough time to drag herself over to the front door and open it, only to realize that she was far from the ocean. She had to do something, she'd start to dry out soon. She glanced down at her transformed body, how it was changed dramatically. Her pink tail flopped uselessly on the floor, she also noticed fins where her "thighs" should have been as well as on her "shins". She also felt fins along her spine on her back, the fins on her arms, her finned ears, and of course her gills at her sides which were starting to burn already. She had to figure something out, she was starting to feel the need for water return.
