Jane felt an incredible itch as light blue scales grew in on her new fin. She couldn't believe what she was seeing. She looked around to see about 4 other women who had become mermaids within her vicinity. The one who screamed was growing a pink tail and had attracted a crowd due to her screaming. One of the others looked to be in her mid 30's and had around the same reaction as Jane, dead silence. One of them was a teenage girl that looked no older than 16 who was crying as her friend tried to comfort her. What the hell was going on?
Jane looked at her new fin, the changes looked complete. What was once her legs had become a blue fish tail. She couldn't believe it, but she was literally half fish. She looked around and found four or five people standing over her. "Are you Okay?" asked one of the girls above her head.
"I...don't know. I really don't know..." Jane remarked in confusion. However, she knew one thing for sure, she was going to need to get into the water within the next five minutes. She could already feel her tail drying out and her body was no longer going to be able to survive long on land. "I need...water" Jane said weakly.
"We need to carry her into the water" one of the girls remarked, "We can figure out wat to do from there".
Two of the girls hoisted Jane's heavy body up and carried her to the water as Jane tried to figure out her situation. When they finally put her down into the ocean she felt a cool sense of relief. She looked around and saw people doing the same to the other girls, and witnessed another young mother on the beach finishing her transformation as her 5 year old child watched in stunned silence.
"What do we do from here" asked someone on the beach.
