With everything that's happened so far, you're just a little bit shaken up. You haven't really had a minute to process all that's been done to you, and you're too shy to explore this stranger's home. You dart after him, like a puppy at the heel of a true guard dog. Danner frowns and turns around to look at you, eyebrows raising.
"You don't have to stay with me," he tells you quietly, though his tail wags slightly behind him and his ears droop. He's looking at you like you're the most adorable thing in the world.
"I-- I just want to be close to you," you murmur, shuffling your feet awkwardly. "You're the first person to show me any kindness since I've arrived on the island. I hardly know you, but you make me feel so safe."
His ears droop a little more, his tail falling slack behind him. He offers up a little smile, and extends his hand to you.
"Come on, then. You can stick with me until you feel more comfortable, okay? I'll protect you."
You feel yourself perk up almost immediately, and launch yourself forward to hug him tightly. With strong arms wrapped around you, you can feel him snuffling at your hair affectionately. He really is just like a big doggy. The thought pleases you.
He ushers you into his room, and he shows you to his bookshelf.
"You can read whatever you want!" He smiles are you brightly. "Choose anything. For now, I really need a shower. Will you be okay if I leave you in here for a few minutes?"
You nod with a little grin, and he slips into his bathroom. It's connected to the bedroom, so you can hear him humming as he undresses. You glance over the books curiously, trying to think of a way to occupy your time.
