It was a pleasant conversation between the four of them. A easy silence fell between them, and Ty looked again and smiled at his new 'twin,' Ky, who smiled back. It was slightly weird, maybe unnerving, to see someone with his exact face staring back. Though, it was kind of more odd that this identical head was sharing his body. Not his body. Ty had to remind himself; it was both of theirs. Ty took in a breathe of air, suddenly realizing something. Ty watched as Ky's hand, their left hand, scratch Ky's nose. Ty had absolutely no control over it; he couldn't even feel it.
"Everything alright bro?" Ky asked, giving him a puzzled look when he noticed him staring.
"Yeah, yeah." Ty smiled, quickly. "I just, I just wasn't expecting to lose half of my body. Its just weird."
"Dude, your a conjoined twin now, attached at the side." Dustin said matter of factly. "What were you expecting?"
Ty honestly had not thought about it that far. What was he supposed to expect. He obviously did not know as much on the subject as Dustin did.
"Come on Dustin, let's let Ty and Ky get acquainted." Justin said.
Dustin nodded, "Sure. See you guys later." With that, Dustin and Justin turned and left the room. Ty could hear them talking about something as they walked down the stairs. Their voices eventually grew to faint to hear.
Ty and Ky stared at each other, both unsure what to do now that they were alone. "So..." Ty started, but the rest of his sentence died in his mouth.
"So... sharing a body is kind of more awkward then you thought it would be." Ky finished his thought.
"Yeah, it kind of is. But how did you know?"
"Dude, we share the same memories. Technically, I am you, or at least a twin version of you. I think its kind of weird too." Ky stretched his head to the left, and Ty could feel the skin and muscle between them stretch a little.
"So obviously we don't really share Dustin and Justin's enthusiasm for being permanently hanging out with someone, even our twin." Ty smiled, happy that he and Ky were on the same page. Ty wiggled his toes. "Can we even walk?" It sounded like such a simple, stupid question.
Ky looked back quizzically at him. "I guess we should find out. It must not be too hard if Dustin and Justin got it down."
"Yeah, but Justin thinks he and Dustin were born conjoined. And Dustin... well I must have inadvertently given him the knowledge and experience of having a conjoined twin too." Ty frowned.
"Well, we can only try right." Ky hesitantly took a step forward. Ty tried to follow, but they lost their balance. Ty and Ky fell faces first onto the carpet. Face in the carpet, Ky's voice came out muffled, "Definitely harder than it looks."
They wiggled left and right, both trying to roll their mutual body over to their respective side. Finally Ty called for them to roll right, and Ky helped roll themselves over. Back on the carpet, Ty and Ky stared at each other slightly winded. "Definitely harder than it looks." Ty agreed.
"Why don't we let Dustin and Justin be the conjoined twins in the family. It'll probably be hard enough on our parents to have one pair rather than two. We can be the 'normal' twins." Ky made quotes in the air to highlight the word normal.
"You took the words right out of my mouth. On three... one, two, three." When Ty counted to three, he and Ky both pulled in opposite directions. With soft popping sound, the two split into separate bodies. "Wow, I didn't think I would be this excited to be all by myself."
