"I dont want to go to school." Katie thought. "Its so boring. I wonder if this ring can get me out of it." Katie thought about what to wish for. She didn't want to grow up too much, she'd already sacrificed quite a few years so far, and she didnt want to become younger either. Then it hit her.
"I wish that I was considered old enough to not have to go to school, that I had a way so that I could just have fun with my life at 12 years old!" She said. As she said it there was a ripple effect. Suddenly, diplomas appeared on the wall showing her name and age, many many diplomas. A new computer appeared along with piles of books and plans. Katie's mind suddenly swam with new knowledge, bombarding her as her IQ swelled to genius level. She clutched her head as it filled her mind, but her personality remained that of a typical 12 year old.
Her mother came in the room just as the change finished, arms folded over her chest. "Katie! What did I say about lollygagging? You might be a genius but we still have a trip to the beach as a reward for your latest paper!"
Katie was thrilled. Her wish had worked and with her new intelligence, she could do anything she wanted.
