Katie thought about her next idea carefully. She enjoyed having Kelly as a sister, but now she wanted to try to see a different dynamic. "I wish that Kelly and I were both best friends. As she said it the ring warmed and suddenly, Katie was struck with a realization. She no longer thought of this girl as her mother or sister. Kel was her best friend. She had memories growing up, sharing all their secrets, getting into and out of trouble. Kel was the tomboy, katie wasn't. When they were thirteen, Kel had come out and told Kelly that she liked girls and Katie had listened and understood.
