As Samantha Twist laid her weary head in her wife's lap, Frances listened to everything her life partner had been through that day concerning the latest in regards to the FBI hoping to find Jeff Decker's killer, along with the death of the still as yet unidentified henchman from Alabama that Dieter Wilhelm sent to at least kidnap Jenny Harper and drag her back "home", if not kill Harry Jenkins as well if Daisuke Tachibana's suspicions were correct.
"That poor girl has been through so much already," commented Frances, as she continued to lovingly massage Samantha's temples to help her wife relax. "Isn't there more we can do?"
"In regards to the wedding next Saturday, we've taken just about every precaution we can at the moment short of putting a force field around the town, and you know I'm not crazy about Stephen King novels as it is," replied Samantha.
"Yes dear, I know," said Frances, before bending down and kissing the top of Samantha's forehead. While Samantha was an avid reader of mostly action/adventure, detective/mystery, or science fiction/fantasy; she had tried other genres from time to time. Yet the last good 'horror' novel, in her opinion, she ever read was Jaws by Peter Benchley, "because what some people call horror is more about the suspense factor than the actual blood and guts for me," recalled Frances.
"Even if we could prove a connection between the deceased and Wilhelm, it might never hold up in court. Besides, the less attention we call to ourselves, the better," pointed out Samantha, starting to purr at her wife's loving touch. "Best we can do is stay the course we're on, and keep alert between now and the time Wilhelm and the rest of that bunch are back in Alabama for good."
"We'll have to see how that goes, because Jenny's secretly hoping that if there's a chance to rescue at least her sister, if not their mother as well..."
"Don't get me wrong honey," began Samantha, shifting positions to become more comfortable, "based upon what I know, I do feel sorry for the Harper women, if not Jenny's youngest brother as well. But as weres, we have to put Jenny and Moon Lake's safety above all else in this matter. In the meantime, can we please talk about more pleasant things?"
"Sure," agreed Frances. "It may take a few years before everything is properly arranged, but I'm starting to realize that Ben may have found his potential life mate in Kenya."
"I'm starting to like her too," admitted Samantha, "but I think we're both years away from being called 'grandma', don't you?"
"I agree. But someday it would be nice to hear the pitter-patter of little feet around the house again," confessed Frances.
"I know honey. If, a couple of years after Ben's graduated college and out and about on his own, you don't like being an empty nester; I promise we'll look into becoming foster guardians, if not outright adoptive parents again."
Frances stopped and thought about that for a moment. While she had no problem opening their home and hearts to another were child in need, she still longed for the day when the Twists could raise a child that was truly "theirs". After all, there was that strange dream I had about me giving birth to a beautiful girl were-kitten Samantha "fathered", but that might have just been wishful thinking, thought the werecat.*
"In the meantime," began Frances, coming back to reality, "what say I take you out to a nice dinner at the diner, and then maybe we can take a romantic stroll in the forest and..."
Samantha's gentle snoring made Frances realize that when she could sneak out of the bedroom without disturbing her wife, she would order a pizza and save some for when her mate woke up from her catnap.
MEANWHILE...
Back in Alabama, Dieter Wilhelm was starting to grow concerned.
True, there was no set contact schedule between him and Mark Wilson, but the fact that he hadn't heard from his employee since the man reported he had reached Moon Lake, Washington yesterday afternoon made him wonder.
If something happened to my Jenny, he would have called, and if he got caught, Wilson knows better than to even mention my name, let alone implicate me in any way.
Yet still...
Wilhelm was trying to think about who he might know in that part of the country that could be trusted to take over Wilson's mission if the henchman had failed him somehow, when his bed mate stirred.
They had both fallen asleep after their last round of sexual intercourse, but thoughts about what might be happening elsewhere had kept him from sleeping too long.
"Sorry I dozed off on you stud. You wore me out," said the blonde hooker he had hired. "Is everything all right?"
"First off, while I appreciate being called a stud and the compliment to my sexual prowess, I told you to call me Master," said Wilhelm, slapping her in the face. "Secondly, my personal business is just that: personal!" he exclaimed, before slapping her again. "And third, everything is not all right because now that you're awake, you're not servicing me again like you're supposed to Jenny!"
"Yes Master! Right away Master!" promised the hooker, avoiding a third slap to the face as she crawled under the blanket to start massaging his cock.
I don't know who the heck this Jenny person is that he's got me pretending to be, but she better know what the hell she's getting into before she hooks up with this bastard, thought the prostitute, as she started sucking on Wilhelm's dick. Despite how much he paid me up front in cash, if I had known what I was facing tonight, I never would have taken this gig! the blonde woman told herself, as she felt the blanket disappear and Wilhelm's hands force her head down further onto his lengthening manhood.

*Skulk leader Akane no Tachibana suspects that Jenny Harper has the potential to become a mystic healer, since her fursona and naturally blonde hair/fur are so unique among werefoxes.
Yet even Jenny is unaware that since becoming a werevixen, she has healed her attacker (the rogue werevixen Yvette Smith) and cured her best friend/dorm mate Karen Yuletide of her extreme fur fetish.
However, even though Jenny has granted her therapist's fondest wish as well, the future Mrs. Jenkins powers fully developing and Frances becoming a mother biologically are still years away from actually happening within the Moon Lake saga, as far as our cast is concerned.—tmw.
