Todd's train of thought was interrupted by the sound of the phone ringing. This struck him as a bit odd, it was still early enough in the morning that nobody in their right mind would be calling at this time. Wrapping a towel around himself, he hurried to answer it before anyone woke up.
"Hello?"
"Todd? Thank God it's you. It's me. Steve."
Todd sighed and relaxed a bit. At least it was a familiar voice that called. "Geez, Steve. Do you know what time it is right now."
"Yeah, yeah," Steve muttered. "I know. But I couldn't sleep. I've been feeling kind of strange lately. Like something I ate didn't quite agree with me."
Todd nodded, even though nobody was there to see. "You too? I was feeling like that earlier." Todd didn't want to tell Steve about what happened after that, though the thought of it was making him fidget.
"Really?" asked Steve. "Listen... I know this sounds a little strange, but... you mind if I drive over and pick you up? I know it's early and all, but I... I just need to talk to you."
The sound of Steve's voice made Todd wonder... had something happened to Steve in the past month or so? It almost sounded as if Steve was eager to meet him for some reason. And what surprised Todd was that he has this feeling that he wanted to meet Steve again.
"Um, sure..." Todd managed. "Let me toss something on and I'll meet you outside the house. I don't want to wake anyone up like you almost did."
Steve chuckled a little. "Yeah, I'm sorry about that. See you in about fiften or twenty?"
Todd agreed, and hung up the phone. He hurried back to his room to dress up. He still couldn't quite put his finger on why the two of them were so eager to meet up. He couldn't imagine himself as being gay, could he? He shrugged those thoughts aside for now and set to work on getting dressed. Whatever the reason Steve had, he was going to arrive shortly.
