Kelly might have been born with magic, but she had the dream of any average little girl. She wanted to have a pet unicorn. Of course, unicorns were just as magic as she was, so she couldn't just get one out of nowhere.
"Daddy, I want to turn her into a unicorn." She said, looking to Merlin.
The old sorcerer was surprised, kneeling down. "You know that is a difficult thing to do Katie. Its advanced magic. She'll be tied to you, like a sister. You have only just met this woman, are you sure you want it to be so?"
Kelly nodded. "Yes. I don't know why but I just know...it has to be her."
Merlin considered his daughter a moment. He looked to the woman, frozen in time. It was true there was a glimmer of magic, something long hidden from years of growth, but it was there. "Very well my child, go on."
"Okay...here we go." She focused on the woman, feeling who she was, who she had been. She slowly began to make alterations. The woman's hair started to regain a wild red color as the wrinkles and sags of her body diminished back. She began to become young and supple as a wind swirled around her shrinking body. She passed through adulthood to the body of a teenager, then back further, back to her early double digits, then single digits. Freckles dotted her face as she regained a natural plucky look of a little girl. Her clothes shifted and changed, turning to a green dress, green wellington boots and ribbons in her hair.
Then her hair turned white...and a horn started to grow from her head as her face pushed to a muzzle, her clothes ripped away as hands and feet became golden cloven hooves and white fur flowed over her. Magic seared around the little unicorn in that moment, searing her soul to Kelly's own.
