They had both fallen asleep.
They had agreed that the mysterious coin was the key to that story and as soon as possible they would go back to the trail and search the jungle for the lady.
He woke in the middle of the night, drenched in sweat. His armpits were segregating something gooey with a earthy smell. Marty was a bit grossed by it. He got up and squatted by the room. It was dark and he felt more comfortable walking on all fours around the floor. He leapt to the bathroom were he turned on the lights. His wifebeater was all sticky he could even see his skin greenish tone under it. He grabbed a towel and passed it in his face and neck, and then he put it under his armpits. When he checked on them they were covered with greenish oil.
“Eww…”
Second glances at the mirror made him look at his eyes which were he could see golden points. Was he becoming more of a frog? He had to find that lady quickly and doing it during the day was going to be rough.
He got out of the bathroom and leapt trough the room. Near the window he could listen now more attentively to the jungle sounds…the birds, the insects, the river, the wind…the frogs and toads who sounded so free, so true, so wild, so not close between four walls. He pulled the curtains apart and saw the pool at the back of the hotel. It was a desert.
“Sorry, Rachel” he croaked to his sleeping beauty. Marty looked down, there was some kind of balcony to a suit. He equilibrated himself on the window frame and jumped one story under. His landing was comfortable – his hands and feet felt like landing on sponges.
He looked over his shoulders. No one inside the suit saw him. The next leap was the most difficult. There were two stories and a pool…he didn’t think much before jumping right onto the water. The air flowing trough him was an amazing sensation right before he plunged underwater. His skin cried with relief. That was what was missing – a pond. He came to the surface and heard the water ruffling. He must have made the hell of a noise; soon someone would go and check out on the pool. He jumped out of it, and leapt between armchairs and tables until he reached a fence which was not difficult to trespass. Soon he was hopping on a road, towards the jungle.
