Still locked with Sam, Jeff at first thought the tugging sensation was caused by her new mate's movements, but soon realized it was coming from a different location altogether. Jeff wriggled as she felt her spine stretch and extend into a new tail, her movements causing Sam to whine a bit. Soon the naked tail began to itch as it sprouted generous amounts of fur which matched the color of Jeff's hair. The itch spread as Jeff felt the fur climb up his spine and begin to spread over his body.
Reaching around to feel his tail, Jeff giggled in pleasure, causing Sam to lean forward and lick her on the nose, eliciting her first tail wag. By this point, Jeff's back was covered in fur, although it was thinning a bit as it reached her arms and legs. Upon climbing her neck, her hair began to take on a fur-like texture, but did not lose any of its length.
In fact, the fur appeared to act as a catalyst for other changes. As Jeff felt bones beginning to ache, she let out a moan which soon turned into something between a whine and a howl. Her limbs reshaped themselves slightly, permitting an easier stance on all fours while still allowing her to move on her rear paws alone. Her hands and feet became stubbier and more paw-like, albeit free of fur, but his hands still remained capable of finer movements. Finally, Jeff's skull elongated itself slightly, and as Jeff watched she grew a slight muzzle, her facial features changing enough that she could see a black dog's nose in front of her eyes, which she was now able to lick with her longer tongue. Panting, Jeff reached up to feel her new furry self. Exhilarated and overjoyed at the experience, Jeff reached around Sam to hug him close. Jeff buried her muzzle in his neck and inhaled, reveling in the array of new scents.
"Wow," Jeff stated involuntarily, then laughed at the change in her voice. While the pitch had obviously risen to that of a female, she was still capable of human speech, although it did have a slightly inarticulate quality to it caused by her new muzzle structure. Since she had set the Chronivac setting to have others view her as a dog, she wondered idly whether they knew she was capable of speech. Deciding to keep that secret for the moment until she was more comfortable with this new reality, she instead whined softly in Sam's ear, which he responded to with a whine in return.
While Jeff could tell that Sam's whine was meant to communicate affection and happiness, she was a bit taken aback to realize that she wasn't able to comprehend his vocalizations as she would speech. Although she could definitely hear more variations and intonations in his whining and barking, it was almost as though she were listening to a song without lyrics. The tenor gave her clues as to his intentions, as did his body language, but at the moment, it was a foreign language to Jeff, despite the fact that in some portion of her brain, probably the part that was now part-dog, she felt a strange familiarity from it.
As Sam finally retracted himself, Jeff gave him a playful yip. Sam stood up, shook himself, then glanced at Jeff as if indicating for her to follow as he exited the living room. Excited to explore this strange new reality, Jeff followed Sam on all fours to...
