After dinner, Kellie took Katie to the mall to shop for new clothes. Kellie was embarrassed that her daughter was wearing clothes two years too small for her.
At the department store, Kellie took Katie directly to the children's department. They began looking through clothes, but Katie started to feel like some of Kellie's choices were simply too childish for her.
"Come on mom, I don't wanna wear that," Katie said about one outfit in particular. "That outfit looks lame." She spied an oufit on a nearby mannequin. "I wanna wear something like that!"
"No Katie," her mother said. "That outfit is much too flashy for you to wear at this age. I told you before, don't be so anxious to grow up." Kellie felt that Katie was being not being grateful for now being nine. Maybe if Kelly were were younger and more eager to please Katie she would give in, but being older she knew better.
Seconds later, Kellie was 39 years old, looking a tad fresher in the face and hair. Kellie realized that she jad just wished herself younger. She didn't really care since she could always go back. Katie tried again convincing her mom to let her try on the outfit she liked. Kellie still thought it was too flashy, but she was willing to let her daughter at least try it on.
"Fine, Katie you can try it on," Kellie said. "But that doesn't mean you can get it!"
Katie bounded off to the dressing room. She was soon back wearing the outfit she desired so much.
"Well mom how do I look?" she asked.
"Well ..." Kellie said. "I don't know." Then a thought crossed her mind. If Katie was a little older it might be more appropriate. She wished Katie a year older. Realizing she would ned more energy to deal with an older Katie, she also wished herself two years younger.
In seconds, Katie was a 10-year-old, 5 feet tall and skinny with lanky legs and arms. Kellie, mean while, was a 37-year-old, even fresher looking than before. Her clothes, made for her 43-year-old build, were definitely looser. Because she was now younger, the ring had lowered Kellie's responsibility slightly, and she found nothing wrong with her daughter's outfit. She was ten after all.
"Wow girlie, you do look good," Kellie said to her daughter. "But if we are going to get you that outfit, we should go up a size. That looks like it would have fit you better last year though."
As they headed to the piercing place, Kellie was happy to please her daughter.
